Through fun lessons, practical tips, and kind encouragement, Granddad Greg teaches children how to protect themselves, respect others, and grow up strong, smart, and safe in a world full of challenges and adventures.

Froggy is the leader of the group and the oldest member, always looking out for the other animals at his karate dojo. As a skilled black belt, he practices hard and sets a strong example for everyone around him. Froggy looks up to Granddad Greg as his role model and tries to follow his teachings in everything he does. He is known for always doing the right thing, showing kindness, and stepping in to help friends whenever they need support. Whether it’s guiding the group through a tricky challenge or offering encouragement to someone feeling unsure, Froggy is dependable, caring, and always ready to make sure everyone is safe and happy

Ducky is one of the highest-ranked belts in the dojo, second only to Froggy. She takes special care of Purple Monkey, guiding him as he begins his safety karate journey. Ducky is smart, witty, and always eager to learn and improve herself. She enjoys playing chess, solving crossword puzzles, and spending quality time with Purple Monkey, helping him grow and gain confidence. Her guidance, intelligence, and kindness make her an important and trusted member of the dojo.

Sal is a quiet and thoughtful member of the dojo who loves reading. Whenever she’s not in class, she can be found with a book in her hands, exploring all kinds of stories and genres, and she’s currently reading three grades above her level. Sal is detail-oriented and precise, both in her karate skills and in practicing safety. She has a kind heart and is always mindful of other people’s feelings, making her a gentle and careful friend to everyone in the dojo.

Pinky is a loving and caring member of the karate dojo. She is bubbly, friendly, and gets along with everyone, bringing energy and joy wherever she goes. With a strong personality, she is always excited to share the new skills and knowledge she learns with her friends. Pinky loves spending time on the playground, playing board games, and enjoying fun moments with the group. Her enthusiasm and kindness make her a bright and cherished part of the dojo.

Purple Monkey is one of the youngest members of the group, and he is soft-spoken with a gentle heart. Even though he’s quiet, he has a strong sense of right and wrong and is learning the importance of speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. With guidance from his friends and role models, Purple Monkey is becoming more confident in sharing his thoughts and standing up for what is safe and fair. His favorite activities include coloring and spending time with his best friend, Ducky, exploring new ideas and enjoying little adventures together. Purple Monkey’s kindness, curiosity, and willingness to learn make him a lovable and important part of the group.

White and Dropped Out of Classes
Skunky was once a member of the dojo but decided to leave last fall. At first, he was very eager to learn, but over time he became discouraged and chose to follow his own rules, even when they weren’t the safest or best choices. Since leaving, Skunky can often be seen ignoring safety and making decisions that aren’t helpful. He stopped caring for his gi and became less mindful of how his actions affected others. Froggy believes that one day Skunky might return to the dojo, learn to be safe again, and rejoin his friends—but only time will tell.
